Strato K introduces Kaleidescape’s exclusive 4K Cinematic video format. Taking advantage of its 8K processing power, 4K Cinematic provides full chroma (up to 4:4:4) and much higher bitrates. This additional color and image data produces incredible visuals, pulling you into the story and delivering a dramatic leap beyond today’s 4K.
4K Cinematic features much higher average bitrates than our standard 4K files, for greater detail and fewer compression artifacts. You'll see rich imagery and natural motion that honors the original recording.
With up to four times the color information available on disc or streaming, 4K Cinematic’s vivid colors and clear imagery captivate the senses, pulling you into a cinematic escape where you can’t help but leave the world behind.
Native 8K
Strato K unlocks native 8K video playback in SDR and HDR10, bringing the latest ultra-high resolution video format to the home.
Cutting-Edge Technology
Strato K is the first movie player certified by the 8K Association that meets the performance and interoperability requirements developed by the Association’s Technical Working Group. Strato K supports Dolby Vision for 4K Cinematic movies and HDR10 for native 8K playback, with a full-time 4K60 onscreen interface.
Lossless Audio
Strato movie players provide lossless audio, maximizing sound quality with a range of downstream components. Strato supports multichannel and spatial audio codecs including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
Kaleidescape’s lossless audio makes your processor, amplifiers, and speakers sound the way the director intended. The dialogue is clearer, and every subtle sound and rumble draws you deeper into the story.
Standalone System
When standalone, Strato K stores approximately seven 4K Cinematic movies on an internal, solid-state drive. Featuring a streamlined interface, Strato K is optimized for navigating a small movie library.
Strato K can download a Kaleidescape 4K Cinematic movie in as little as 15 minutes over gigabit Ethernet. Downloads become a candidate for automatic deletion 48 hours after playback, making room for more movies. Purchased movies can be re-downloaded at any time.
Scalable
An investment that grows with you. Want room for more movies or players in additional rooms? Unlock the full Kaleidescape experience by grouping Strato K with Terra movie servers. Any number of Strato K movie players can be grouped into a system, with up to four servers per system.
Grouping with a server activates the iconic Kaleidescape covers view and list menus for navigating large movie libraries. It also unlocks Kaleidescape’s parental control settings and proprietary child remote, for a customizable family-friendly experience.
