The AudioQuest PowerQuest 909 is a 20-amp AC power conditioner and non-sacrificial surge protector designed for high-performance audio and home theatre systems. It addresses a problem common to every audio and video system: AC power lines carry noise, interference, and voltage irregularities that raise the noise floor of sensitive components, compress dynamic range, and reduce picture quality. The PowerQuest 909 conditions the incoming power before it reaches any connected equipment.

As the flagship model in AudioQuest's PowerQuest range, the 909 separates itself in two areas. First, it operates at 20 amps continuous, well above the 15-amp capacity shared by the other three models in the range. Second, its 12 hospital-grade outlets include a more robust contact design and are separated into purpose-built banks: four High-Current outlets with a 45-amp peak Transient Power Correction reservoir for power amplifiers and subwoofers, and eight Ultra-Linear Filtered outlets for source components. Wide-bandwidth differential and common-mode ultra-linear filtering provides a lower noise floor and blacker backgrounds across the full audio and video signal chain.

The PowerQuest 909 comes with the PQ-920 power cable, a 2-meter 20-amp Monsoon-level cable built with Semi-Solid Concentric Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) and Long-Grain Copper conductors, AudioQuest's ZERO-Tech for uncompressed current delivery, and RF/ND-Tech for ground-noise dissipation, with a flat-to-wall 45/90-degree adjustable male plug to ease installation behind racks and in tight spaces. Uses a NEMA male wall plug and IEC C-19 female connector. A 2RU rack-mounting kit is also included.

Features

• 12 Hospital-Grade AC Outlets: All 12 outlets use hospital-grade construction for superior contact retention. Four High-Current outlets serve power amplifiers, powered speakers, and subwoofers. Eight Ultra-Linear Filtered outlets serve source components, DACs, streamers, and displays. Each bank is purpose-matched to the type of load connected.
• Transient Power Correction (TPC): A low-impedance reservoir circuit provides up to 45 amps of peak current (up to 25 milliseconds) on demand to the High-Current outlets. This supplies current-starved amplifiers with the headroom needed for uncompressed dynamic transients without drawing that current from the AC line in real time.
• Differential and Common-Mode Ultra-Linear Filtering: Addresses both differential-mode and common-mode AC line noise simultaneously with wide-bandwidth coverage, providing a lower noise floor and blacker backgrounds across all connected components.
• 20-Amp Maximum Current Capacity: Rated for 20 amps RMS at 120V. This exceeds the 15-amp rating of the other three PowerQuest models and is designed for systems with large power amplifiers or multiple high-draw components running simultaneously.
• Non-Sacrificial Surge Protection: Built to withstand repeated transient surges and spikes up to 6000V or 3000A, the maximum that can pass through a building's AC electrical panel. Protection components do not degrade or wear out over time. No replacement required after a surge event.
• Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS): At 140VAC, the main power relay opens in under 0.25 seconds, disconnecting all connected equipment from the AC line. The relay resets automatically once incoming voltage returns to a safe operating range.
