Best turntable £200-£500 five years in a row) ‘Plug and Play’ design utilises our handmade RB110 tonearm, with pre-set bias and a factory fitted Carbon cartridge. Set-up is possible in under 30 seconds and delivers incredible performance well beyond its price point.

The multi-award-winning Rega Planar 1 receives a fresh new look with its elegant matte finish. Every aspect of the Planar 1 has been meticulously engineered to enhance performance, featuring a bespoke 24V low-noise synchronous motor designed to minimize vibration and the handcrafted RB110 tonearm equipped with Rega’s ultra-low-friction bearings. It also incorporates Rega’s advanced EBLT drive belt technology for improved speed stability and greater accuracy. Ideal for those returning to vinyl or seeking a high-performance turntable built to last, the Planar 1 delivers exceptional sound quality and long-term reliability.

  • Tonearm: The Planar 1 is equipped with the RB110 tonearm, featuring Rega-designed ultra-low-friction bearings (patent pending), a new bias assembly, and an integrated arm clip. Automatic bias adjustment eliminates the need for manual setup, making operation exceptionally simple. The ergonomically designed headshell enhances both usability and aesthetics.
  • Cartridge: Supplied factory-fitted with the Rega Carbon moving magnet cartridge for easy setup and reliable performance.
  • 24V Synchronous Motor: Features a low-noise 24V synchronous AC motor paired with a dedicated motor PCB and aluminium pulley, delivering improved speed stability and reduced mechanical noise.
  • Plinth: Available in Matt Black, Matt White, and Walnut Effect finishes, the redesigned plinth includes an ergonomically positioned on/off switch discreetly located underneath for a cleaner appearance.
  • Central Bearing Housing: Incorporates a precision brass main bearing assembly engineered to improve fit, reduce stress on the bearing, and minimize energy transfer for enhanced performance.
  • Platter: A 23 mm high-mass phenolic platter provides greater rotational inertia, improving speed consistency and overall playback stability.
  • Isolation: The latest foot assembly design enhances stability while reducing the transfer of unwanted vibrations.
  • Motor Cover Tray: Includes an integrated motor cover tray with built-in cooling to support reliable operation.
