Product Overview

The NAD C 359S is a stereo integrated amplifier that stays true to what NAD has always done well: physical controls, straightforward operation, and amplification that gets out of the way of the music, while adding the connectivity a modern system demands. Two channels of Class AB amplification deliver 70 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 120 watts into 4 ohms, backed by a high-current, low-noise switch-mode power supply drawn from NAD’s Class D development experience. The result is clean, stable power with the headroom to handle real-world speaker loads.

BluOS is built in, so there’s no separate streamer required. High-resolution audio, multi-room playback, and access to every major streaming service are handled through the BluOS Controller app. HDMI eARC brings TV audio into the system, Bluetooth aptX HD covers wireless listening, and a phono input takes care of the turntable. A subwoofer output with optional high-pass filtering lets you build a proper 2.1 system without compromising the main speakers. Everything is controlled through physical buttons and rotary knobs, with an IR remote included.

The C 359S is the kind of amplifier you set up once and never have to think about again.

Features

  • Class AB amplification with switch-mode power supply — Delivers 70W per channel into 8 ohms and 120W into 4 ohms continuously, with a high-current, low-noise power supply informed by NAD’s Class D development work. Power conversion, signal processing, and amplification are kept carefully separated to minimize unwanted interaction.
  • BluOS built-in — High-resolution music streaming, internet radio, and local network playback without a separate streamer. The BluOS Controller app on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS gives you one interface for all your sources. Compatible with Roon, Apple AirPlay, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, and Qobuz Connect.
  • Multi-room capability — Connect the C 359S with other BluOS players throughout the home for whole-home audio from a single app.
  • HDMI eARC — Connect directly to a compatible TV for high-quality audio from your television through the C 359S and your speakers.
  • Bluetooth aptX HD — Wireless listening from compatible devices with aptX HD for higher-quality Bluetooth audio.
  • Phono input — Built-in moving magnet phono stage for connecting a turntable directly, no external phono preamp needed.
  • Analogue and optical inputs — Flexible source connectivity for CD players, DACs, and other components.
  • Dedicated headphone output — A separate headphone jack for private listening with a signal-to-noise ratio of over 110 dB.
  • Subwoofer output with optional high-pass filtering — Redirects low frequencies to the subwoofer while reducing bass demands on the main speakers, improving clarity, imaging, and available headroom in a 2.1 system.
  • Physical controls and IR remote — Buttons, rotary knobs, and a full IR remote for direct, menu-free operation.
  • Voice control and smart home integration — Works with Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri, and integrates with Control4, Crestron, ELAN, Lutron, and other platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the NAD C 359S Integrated Amplifier?

The NAD C 359S is a stereo integrated amplifier that combines Class AB amplification with BluOS built-in streaming, HDMI eARC, and Bluetooth aptX HD in a Classic Series design with physical buttons and rotary controls. The NAD C 359S is available at Trutone Electronics in Mississauga, Ontario.

How much power does the NAD C 359S deliver?

The NAD C 359S delivers 2 x 70 watts of continuous power into 8 ohms and 2 x 120 watts into 4 ohms, with a peak output current of more than 20 amperes. Its high-current, low-noise switch-mode power supply draws on NAD’s Class D development expertise to provide stable, responsive power across a wide range of loudspeaker loads.

What streaming services does the NAD C 359S support through BluOS?

The NAD C 359S has BluOS built-in, which provides access to high-resolution streaming services including Spotify and Qobuz, with MQA decoding support for compatible high-resolution streams. BluOS also enables multi-room listening, allowing the C 359S to stream in sync with other BluOS-enabled devices on the same network.

Does the NAD C 359S have HDMI eARC for connecting a TV?

The NAD C 359S includes an HDMI eARC input for direct connection to a compatible television, allowing the amplifier to receive audio from the TV and its connected sources through a single HDMI cable. This makes the C 359S a practical choice for a living room stereo system where the TV is also a primary audio source.

Does the NAD C 359S have a phono input for a turntable?

The NAD C 359S has a built-in moving magnet phono stage with a 46 kohm / 100 pF input impedance and a sensitivity of 3.95mV, allowing a turntable with a standard MM cartridge to connect directly without a separate phono preamplifier.

Can a subwoofer be connected to the NAD C 359S?

The NAD C 359S includes a dedicated subwoofer output with optional high-pass filtering for the main speaker channels. Enabling the high-pass filter allows the main speakers to be relieved of low-frequency content when a subwoofer is handling bass reproduction, which NAD describes as sophisticated subwoofer integration.

Does the NAD C 359S have a headphone output?

The NAD C 359S includes a dedicated headphone output for private listening, allowing it to serve as a desktop headphone amplifier alongside its primary role as a speaker amplifier. T

Does the NAD C 359S support Bluetooth?

The NAD C 359S supports Bluetooth aptX HD, which enables wireless audio streaming from compatible smartphones, tablets, and computers at a higher quality than standard Bluetooth codecs. This allows the C 359S to receive music wirelessly while maintaining the option to use all its wired and network streaming inputs.

What analog and digital inputs does the NAD C 359S have?

The NAD C 359S provides a moving magnet phono input, analogue line inputs, and an optical digital input for source connection, in addition to HDMI eARC. These wired inputs complement the built-in BluOS network streaming and Bluetooth aptX HD, giving the amplifier a full range of connection options for a complete stereo system.

Is the NAD C 359S Roon Ready?

The NAD C 359S supports Roon through its built-in BluOS platform, which is listed as a Roon integration partner on the official NAD product page. This allows the C 359S to be discovered and controlled as a Roon output within a Roon setup.
