Its 8-ohm nominal impedance and 86.5dB sensitivity are standard requirements for most AV receivers. The Silver 50 8G is also the recommended base speaker for the Silver AMS 8G Atmos modules, which are designed to sit on top of it.

The Monitor Audio Silver 100 8G is a significantly larger and more capable standmount, featuring a 3-way design with a dedicated 3-inch midrange driver and an 8-inch bass driver versus the Silver 50 8G's 2-way single 6-inch mid-bass design. The Silver 100 8G extends 10Hz deeper in-room at 33Hz, handles double the continuous power at 200W, and achieves a higher maximum peak SPL of 114dB versus 110dB.
